Cassina was encouraged to revisit the initial version of the chaise longue designed in 1928 for the Villa Church habitation in Ville d’Avray by the desire to seek out the authenticity of iconic models in the history of design. The initial models differ in certain construction and aesthetic details from the versions manufactured by Thonet starting from the nineteen thirties and up until production by Cassina in 1965: the bicolour structure, the steel cross bar with the drop section in blue and the four support bars in basalt grey. The mattress pad is in grey hairyskin, sourced from Gascon cattle, with black leather piping. The polyester padded headrest is in grey 'Fumo' Extra leather.
