The 'Hope' rug was designed by the sculptor and painter, Menashe Kadishman, in celebration of the 40 year anniversary of Aram Designs. Kandishman's work is internationally acclaimed and is in over forty permanent collections throughout the world. He has had numerous one-man exhibitions from Beijing to Montevideo, Seoul to New York. Kadishman was a member of both kibbutz Ma'ayan Baruch and of Yisrael, where he worked as a shepherd. Sheep were an inseparable part of the Mediterranean scenery and of its physical and spiritual culture from ancient times. In 1978 Kandishman painted a flock of sheep as part of the Venice Biennale. Our rugs are handmade in India - please note the very long lead time.
