'40 Winks' was designed by Morag Myerscough in celebration of the 40 year anniversary of Aram Designs. ''I was very excited and flattered to be asked to design a rug for Aram's 40th Anniversary. It came at a very appropriate time as I had just turned forty myself. I thought about a united forty image and lots of number systems when through my mind but I kept on remembering the brief – would I want that in my own house? Maybe not – too laboured. By chance I had got hold of some old 60’s packing boxes that has been in the attic for years. One of them was a Slumberland box which had the slogan 'surrender to its warm embrace'. This to me summed up all I felt about the rug I wanted to design for Aram and for myself. I want the rug to warm your heart.''
